Built in Wine Fridge

A built-in under-counter unit was formed, fitted and finished as part of the reinstatement of a kitchen that had been damaged by a water leak.

The work shown in this photograph

This photograph shows a built-in under-counter unit installed into a kitchen run where the cabinetry and worktop had been damaged by water. Rather than replacing the whole kitchen, the team formed a correctly sized housing for the appliance, fitted the unit into it and made good the surrounding worktop, splashback and finishes so the run was usable again.

Work like this usually follows an emergency rather than a planned refurbishment. A leak or a failed appliance floods the base of a kitchen unit, and the cabinetry, worktop and adjacent flooring cannot simply be wiped down and left in place. Once the source of the water had been isolated and the area dried, the reinstatement stage rebuilds the affected section of the run around the existing appliances.

It is the detail work around the installation that matters most to a homeowner or managing agent. A housing that is out of square, a worktop cut too tight or a splashback that has not been sealed properly will show the moment the appliance is moved and pulled out for cleaning. Taking the finish off properly and re-sealing the joints is what keeps the reinstatement looking deliberate rather than patched.

For leaseholders and managing agents, the practical benefit is that the kitchen returns to daily use without waiting for a full refit, and that a single area of damage does not escalate into a whole-room reinstatement. We keep the surrounding finishes consistent with what is already there, so the repaired section sits comfortably alongside the rest of the kitchen.

Why it matters

What this work means for the property

The practical difference this job makes to the people living in, managing or insuring the property.

Kitchen back in daily use

The affected run is returned to working order rather than left unusable while a full refit is arranged.

One team, one point of contact

The same team handles the reinstatement, so you are not coordinating separate contractors for the same cabinetry.

Finishes that match the room

New materials are selected and detailed to sit alongside the existing kitchen rather than stand out from it.

Clear answers

Built in Wine Fridge FAQs

Can you install a built-in appliance if the kitchen was not fitted by you?

Yes. In most cases we work with the cabinetry that is already there, forming a housing that suits the appliance and the space available, and making good the surfaces around it.

Do I need to replace the whole kitchen unit?

Not usually. If the carcass, worktop and finishes are still sound once the water has been removed and dried, we reinstate around the existing units rather than replacing everything.

What happens if more damage is found once the work starts?

We stop and talk to you. If the assessment reveals work beyond the agreed scope, we explain what we have found and quote it before it is carried out, so the price you have agreed does not change unexpectedly.
